These steel bolts are designed for double chainring bicycles and bikes with thicker chainrings. The nut is deeper (perfect for most road and mountain bikes with 5-bolt pattern rings and BMX bikes with a single 4-bolt pattern ring). The nut is about 5mm deep (perfect for most applications) when tightened and 7.5mm total height.
